Procedyne developed fluidized bed heat treating technology. Our equipment is recognized as the worldwide high quality standard. Procedyne manufactures furnaces in a wide range of standard and custom sizes with atmosphere and temperature capabilities that provide optimum cost effectiveness.

Standard size batch furnaces for tool room heat treating requirements are available in a wide range of sizes and capabilities, allowing operators to perform all heat treatments in a single furnace.

Procedyne also designs and builds customized continuous and automated batch systems for production line requirements. Our fluid beds can process multiple parts and several heat treatments in a single furnace or in an automated line. This yields consistent part quality and low operating costs to meet your production needs.

N/A The NitroBlack® process combines heat treating surface treatment with protective coating to achieve parts with improved wear and fatigue properties, impact and yield strength as well as significantly enhanced corrosion resistance to a number of corrosive compounds. In addition, the NitroBlack® process produces parts with have attractive black matte surface finishes.

N/A The NitroBlack® process involves a ferritic nitrocarburizing heat treatment of the parts in a Procedyne Fluidized Bed Furnace to achieve a nitrogen diffusion zone, or white layer. This is followed by a surface oxidation in a Fluidized Bed Furnace (which can be the same Furnace depending upon production requirements) to form a black porous surface layer composed of pure iron oxide (Fe3O4). This results in a continuous compound layer on the workpiece forming a hard, porous, corrosion-resistant surface.

The workpiece is then dipped into the NitroBlack® process liquid, a polymer emulsion, and allowed to dry. The resulting part exhibits a black matte finish, which has a salt spray resistance from 95 to 600 hours and more (ASTM B-117), depending on the metals being treated and the case depth.
