High-Temp Gas Filters

Auxiliary Equipment & Accessories Procedyne offers afterburners that meet most statutory requirements for discharge to the atmosphere. These can be purchased stand-alone, or as part of a package with our powder/granule processing systems or heat treat or thermal cleaning systems.

Standard Units
We have a series of small standard-design afterburners are for process gas volumes in the range of 110 scfm to 2000 scfm process gas.

These well-designed units are natural gas-fired and can discharge to atmosphere at 1600°F (871°C) or can be equipped with an exhauster for air dilution cooling for discharge to atmosphere at 250°F (121°C)

Custom Units and Systems
For larger or more demanding applications, a custom-designed and -built unit can be offered. These units can be as large as is required by the process, and can be configured for either horizontal or vertical installation.

With the custom design systems, heat recovery options are available, including indirect heat exchangers or direct use of hot exhaust gas.

Procedyne Series JFP-1090 Gas Heaters are gas-fired units capable of heating a process gas stream to 1090°C reliably and efficiently. The heating fuel is typically natural gas or propane.

These units achieve a high heat transfer coefficient on both the heating side and the process gas side of the heat transfer interface. The former is accomplished using the patented Jet Fire® ceramic baffle geometry which provides highly effective convective and radiant heat transfer area, and the latter is accomplished by effective turbulizers in the flowing process gas stream. This results in a cost effective unit and uniform and reliable process results.

Procedyne Series JFHE-1090 are gas-gas heat exchangers for operation to 1090°C. The Jet Fire® heat transfer geometry is employed on the high temperature gas side to achieve the high heat transfer coefficient of the Gas Heaters.

MIKRODYNE™ HIGH-TEMPERATURE FILTERS

Reliable and Efficient Particle Filtration from High-Temperature Gas Streams

With its all-metal construction, the Mikrodyne™ filter system provides the solution for undesirable entrainment of fine particulate in high-temperature solids/gas processing systems, including dryers, calciners, reactors, or virtually any other process system handling particulate solids material. With capability for filtration of micron-size particles, the Mikrodyne™ filter system can ensure virtually complete filtration of solids from a high-temperature gas stream.

FEATURES OF THE MIKRODYNE™ SYSTEM

  • Serviceable at temperatures as high as 1,000°C.
  • 100% filtration efficiency at 2.8 micron (special designs available for even smaller particulate capture).
  • Low pressure drop across filter system.
  • In-process self-cleaning feature, using clean gas to back-flush the filters; continuous reverse flow or pulse blow-back designs available.
  • Can be housed in a separate vessel, or integral to process vessel for virtually complete solids retention in process vessel.
  • Various types of alloy construction available, for temperature and/or corrosion resistance.
BENEFITS OF THE MIKRODYNE™ SYSTEM
  • Eliminates need for gas cooling for filtration; provides particulate-free high-temperature gas stream suitable for direct use in energy recuperation or gas recycling.
  • Eliminates problem of condensibles in gas stream which render low-temperature filtration systems problematic or inapplicable.
  • Available vessel-integral configuration provides virtually complete solids retention in process vessel, yielding several advantages:
    • higher yield due to elimination of elutriation of potentially under-processed fines;
    • maintaining of product particle size distribution;
    • virtually complete confinement of high-value materials or hazardous materials, eliminating or minimizing need for downstream reclaim or containment.
